MR H. Gt ELL’S LIFE WORK ON THE HILLS.—By the death of Mr H. G. Ell this morning, Christchurch has lost one of its most valuable citizens. For many years Mr Ell worked energetically on the construction of the beautiful Summit Road and on the building of the Sign of the Takahe and the Sign of the Kiwi. His work will stand as an imperishable monument to his memory. The photographs show some of' the works in which Mr Ell was interested.
