FREE MILK SUPPLY.
Donations Received by Aranui School. At the monthly meeting of the Aranui School Committee Mr J. T. Dickie A donation of £2 2 s was received from the Heathcote County Council towards the school milk supply, also 10s 6d from Mr E. J. Howard, M.P., with a promise of a further donation if necessary. The .chairman reported that 11s 9d had been received frpm parents for the same purpose. The chairman reported that at a meeting of householders convened by the committee to discuss the dental clinic and milk supply there had been an attendance of only fourteen. That meeting had decided in favour of supporting the dental clinic, but so far no monetary support had been received from the parents concerned. It was decided to circularise parents asking for donations towards the; upkeep of the clinic, and if these were not forthcoming to enforce compulsory payments. The headmaster’s report showed 112 children on the roll, with an average attendance of seventy-five, owing to the prevalence of measles and influenza. Thanks were extended to Messrs 11. Williams and E. Thorne for acting as coaches to the school football team.
