Prince of Wales’s Birthday Celebrated. On Saturday evening th*e members or the Cambrian Society of Canterbury met in the Tac H Hall, Gloucester Street, to celebrate the fortieth birthday of the Prince of Wales. There were many members present, the guests of the evening being Mrs Charles Lewis, the Rev E. L. Williams (Tiniaru) and Mr P. Kennedy. The president, Mr C. E. Jones, recalled the generous assistance, energy and excellent work which the . Prince of Wales gives so freely to th*e Empire, and the splendid interest he takes in the colonies. At the conclusion of his address the members all joined in singing “God Bless the Prince of Wales.” Mr J. G. Parry proposed the toast of Wales. “Cymru Fv, Cymru Sydd, Cymru Fydd” (Wales of the past. Wales of the present. Wales of the future). Mr Williams responded to the welcome given to the guests and spoke of many little incidents which happened while he was travelling through modern Wales. Mr A. M. Owen spoke brief! v of "Our City.” and Mr E. R. Caygill described some of the quaint customs of the Welsh Eisteddfod and the Chairing of the Bard. During the evening the members enjoyed a group of songs given by Madame Gower Burns, a valued member of the society, songs by Miss Dilys Parry, and a pianoforte solo by Mr**.!. G. Parry.
