"Not in Control."

Dear Sir,—" Grannie's Son’s ” argument also does not sink in. It has no weight or truth. What he wrote is not correct. The City Council employees, through their unions, do not control the L.R.C. Here is a statement of facts which cannot be denied or pushed aside, because they can be verified. The L.R.C. is composed of 31 organisations, and of those 31 only tw’o are in an> way connected with the City Council employees; and of those two only a small proportion of each union represents council employees. To be exact, of the first union, one-fourth are council employees, and of the second one-third, so that you see even these two organisations are not representing a very great number of council employees. Again, the L.R.C. does not control the Labour councillors; these men and women are not responsible to the L.R.C. fur any action they may take. They are responsible to a national organisation, and City Council employees are a very small portion of that national organisation. “ Grannie's Son ” evidently thinks the reading public are easily gulled when he tries to put across such ridiculous and childish mis-statements. He evidently knows nothing about the position of City Council cmplcvees and has not bothered to take the trouble to find out before rushing into print. —I am, etc., TRUTH ALWAYS.
