Rose, late secretary, who recently retired after lengthy service, was a guest of the club and the chairman presented him with a set of pipes and a pouch from the football club in recognition of the valuable work tendered to both clubs. Dr M. Brown, recently transferred to SeaclifE, and Mr Rose were elected life members. Dr Lewis spoke of the work Mr T. Fox had done during the past two seasons, especially in the organising of the night tournaments which proved so success-

ful in assisting to raise funds to complete the purchase of a talkie machlns for showing pictures for the patients’ entertainment.

Olympia Defeat Centre.

A ten-rink match between delegates to the Christchurch Bowling Centre and the Olympia Indoor Rinks was played at the Olympia Rinks last evening, Olympia winning by 209 points to 205.
