Planting of New Areas to be Discouraged. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received June 13, 2.10 p.m.) LONDON, June 12. A sub-committee of the Fruitgrowers* Conference recommends the (further reduction in the number of varieties of apples exported by the elimination of lower grades. It was agreed that successful marketing depends upon prices not being raised against the consumer. It was resolved that while the market continues unsatisfactory, the planting of new areas in the Dominions for export should be discouraged, and that the matter of new planting be left for decision by the Home growers.
