Commenting on the shipment, a stock agent said to day that the outcome ol this first consignment* of stock for China would be watched Avith the greatest interest, and if it Avas successful, it might lead to the establishment of \-ery important trade relations, not only in stock, but in other lines of produce and manufacture. The potentialities of China as a market for New Zealand goods were enormous, and if trade between China and New Zealand
was successfully established, there might be an outlet for all that the Dominion could possibly produce, even to the absorption of produce at present shipped to London. A very important factor of the case Avas the adA-antage of a much closer Market, Avhich meant that New Zeand goods could arrive in a much fresher and more condition than with shipments to England, and freights Avould be much cheaper.
