Canterbury Championship

The Canterbury Collie Dog Club's annual trials were commenced yesterday on Mr R. M. Morten’s property at Tai Tapu. when the heading, bringing back and holding in the ring championship was held.
Among ■\vnat are known as the top dogs, there was very little difference in the character of their work. Practically all the dogs worked well, end only two out of the thirty-two entries failed to make good points. The possible number of points was 46, and this was obtained by Mr J. Anderson’s Toby Again, a dog which has been much heard of at recent trials in several districts. In the judge's opinion, Toby Again did not make a mistake. Mr R. Wilson’s Mac, another excellent worker, was only a point a wav in second place. Mac lost that point in the pull, otherwise being perfect. Halt a point away, in third plaCe, was Mr C. A. Parker’s George 111. He lost a point and a half on the out run and made full points on lift, pull and hold Another half a point
way was Mr J. Trotter’s M’Nab, he having lost a point on outrun and a I oint on hold. The fifth place was awarded to M r C. H. Smith’s Moss, who lost two and a half points in the pull only. Following aro the results: — J. Anderson’s Toby Again, 46 points 1 R. Wilson’s Mac, 45 points ........ 2
