Honoured
SYDNEY, June 1
Contending that equal honours should be granted to the co-command-ers of the Southern Cross, and emphasising his 44 extraordinarily fine record,” the Australian Flying Corps Association has written to the Prime Minister (Mr Lyons) requesting the conferring of a knighthood on Mr C. T. P. Ulm. In the letter the association says that “ Ulm has consistently carried on. and we feel ranks with Sir Charles Kingsford Smith in service to his country. We feel that everything possible should be done to place Flight-Lieutenant Ulm in the secure position that his record of unselfish service deserves.”
Further flights planned by Ulm are:—June: New Zealand to Tasmania: and first official air mail flight from Australia to Papua and New Guinea.
