Heavy-weight Championship Bout Approved.
At a meeting of the General Committee of the Christchurch Sports Club last evening there were present: Messrs A. R. Harris, J. D. Hutchison, N. M’Otlli* vray, A. F. Stacey, F. T. H. Bell, 1» Rennell. A. M’Donald-Smith, H. S. Williams, T. A spell and L. T. Annand The president (Mr A. R. Harris) occupied The chairman reported that articles had been signed by Ray Nicol, of Southland. the preserft holder of the New Zealand professional heavy-weight title, and Val Luttrell, of Hawke’s Bay, challenger for the title. The bout had bee*> approved by the New Zealand Boxing Council, and would be staged in St James Theatre. The council had also approved of a professional featherweight bout between Cyril Hume (Wellington) and Percy Haw-as (Christchurch). which would consist of ten three-minute rounds. The Match Committee had arranged as a pielimtnary to the professional bouts an amateur contest between W. Hawes (Westport', who holds the Australasia u amateur feather-weight title, and Norman Fisher, the holder of the Canterbury title fer this class. A. n application was received from Jack Kelly, the Southland title holder in the amateur light-weight .lass, for a match with the holder of the Canter bury title, R.
