Cocoa for a Party.
To-Day’s Recipe
For your next party, instead of serving coffee or tea, gi ve your guests cocoa made by the following method. Not only is it delicious to taste, but it is also a nourishing and health-giving drink sui cable for cold winter evenings. Ingredients: 2 tablespoons cocoa. 1 cup boiling water. 1 teaspoon cornflour. 3 cups milk. 2 tablespoons castor sugar. i teaspoon vanilla essence. Method:
Place cocoa, sugar, cornflour and a few grains sa’t in top of a double boiler. Stir in boiling water and boil five minutes, stirring constantly. Bring milk to boiling point in a saucepan, then stir in cocoa mixture and vanilla essence. Beat with an egg whisk until foamy. Serve in cups, filling three-quarters full with two marshmallows in each. If preferred, a spoonful whipped cream can be placed on top of cocoa, instead of pouring it over the marshmallows. For four. To ice cOcoa: Cool and chill. Serve in tall
glasses. Place a tablespoon whipped cream, vSweetened and flavoured with vanilla, on top of each glass, and serve with sponge fingers. . Vanilla ice cream can be substituted for the cream.
