Hospital Staff Organise
Ball.
POPULAR ANNUAL EVENT.
An enjoyable ball was* that held last evening at the Winter Garden by members of the Christchurch Hospital staff. Every year members of the staff entertain their friends in this way, and last night’s dance, like its predecessors, was a complete success. The committee comprised Misses Olive Holmes and Doris Harris (secretary), Messrs J. Rennie and J. Duncan. Miss Holmes wore a primrose lace frock with a wide sarh and shoulder ruffles of black velvet; Miss Harris was in black lace and a short black cape lined with burgundy red.
Mrs W. Fox and Miss Rose Muir, lady superintendent, were the guests of honour. Miss Muir's graceful frock was of petunia velvet, over which she wore a blue and gold Chinese wrap. Sister L. Molvneux and Sister F. Randall were the chaperones. Sister Molyneux wore a frock of cream chiffon patterned in black and scarlet and Sister Randall’s frock was of black san crepe.
During the evening exhibitions of ballroom dancing were given by Mr and Mrs Sidney Hollis and tap dances were given by' the Lawrence sisters. The music was supplied by the BaileyMarston Orchestra.
