Frederick Delius Was Once an Orange Planter. United Press Assn.—Py Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received June 11. 12 40 p.m ) PARIS. June 10. The death is announced of Frederick Delius, the composer. Frederick Delius was born at Bradford, Yorkshire, in 1862, and was educated at the Bradford Grammar School and the International College. Spring Grove, Isle worth. At the age of twentyone he left England for Florida to become an orange planter. After two years he went to Leipzig, and studied for two years at the Conservatoire. He ha.s since resided in France. He was made an Honorary’ Doctor of the University of Oxford in 1929. and a Doctor of the University of Leeds in 1933 He has a number of works, including choral, to his credit.

(Received June 11, 1.15 p.m.) CAPE TOWN, Junes 10. The death has occurred at Salisbury of Victor Kennerly Romford, the only son of Dame Clara Butt.—“ Times ” cable.
