AFTERNOON PARTY.

Bathroom Gifts for Miss Esther Rose. Mesdames Russell Cordery and Harold Prescott were hostesses yesterday afternoon at a party held in Ballantyne’s private reception room for Miss Esther Rose, in honour of her approaching marriage. Each of the guests brought a bathroom gift *Vt the bride-to-be. Miss Rose, who was wearing an attractive frock of navy relieved with white buttons and facings and a navy hat, was presented with a little shoulder spray of abutilons by her hostesses. Mrs Cordery wore a black woollen challis frock under a smart black boucle tweed coat trimmed with Persian fur, and a little black hat. Mrs Prescott was in a smart moss green chevron wool frock with buttons and frilled trimming of beige ; her hat being of the same green material. A competition held during the afternoon was won by Miss Sadie Balkind. Those present were :—Mesdames Arthur Schneideman and L. 11. Cordery, Misses Esther* Rose, Pat Baffin, Freda and Zena Rose, Sadie Balkind, Lesley James, Gwen Clark, Eunice Bullivant and Kathleen Ainger.
