Airmen Leap to Safety After Collision. British Official Wireless. (Received May 7, 12.30 p.m.) RUGBY, May 5. Two Royal Air Force machines were looping the loop at a height of 5000 feet near Grantham, when they collided and crashed, locked together. The three occupants, however, jumped with their" parachutes and landed safely. When the aeroplanes crashed, both engines were buried in the ground. Since 1926, when parachutes were made compulsory in the service, 109 lives had been saved by them up to the beginning of the prerent year.
