JEWELLERY STOLEN.
Smash and Grab Raid in City. A smash and grab raid was made on a jeweller’s shop in the city at an early hour this morning, a valuable plate-glas.s window being broken, and about £7 worth of jewellery stolen. The shop was that of Messrs S. Miles and Sons, in A. J. White and Company’s buildings, 181, High Street. When the jeweller arrived this morning he found a knot of curious people in front of his premises, and a jagged hole through the window. A tray of rings and some necklaces were missing. Since then, a necklace and two of the rings have been recovered. The value of the window was about £lB.
