NEW KIND OF THRILLS.

“ Carolina ” will conclude its season at the Grand Theatre to-night. Just as the dark is fear-compelling because of the unseen tilings which might lurk in its inky blackness, so does the mad super-scientist in “ The Invisible Man,” which will begin a return seasen at the Grand Theatre tomorrow, possess more than human power. It is this power and its graphiceffect on the other characters that provides the picture with its eeriness. The story, which is from the pen of 11. G. Wells, is about a scientist who manages to make himself invisible by means of an obscure drug, and then, half-crazed with its effect, attempts to make the world realise his unlimited power. The part of " The Invisible Man ” is taken by Claude Rains, who is ably assisted by William Harrigan, Gloria” Stuart, Dudley Digges, Una O’Connor, Henry Travers and others. The photographic effects are wonderful. Box plans at the D.I.C.
