HOSPITAL PATIENTS HELPED

A meeting of the committee of the Hospital Lady Visitors’ Association was held at the hospital. There were present: Mesdames Hogg (president) in the chair, Ward, Fleming, Collins, S. H. Stewart, A. Beals, Meredith-Kaye, Misses L. Bowen, J. Lee, E. J. M. Cardale and R. Muir. Miss Bowen reported that during March nine patients were granted one week at the Rhodes Memorial Home and three were granted a second week. Several garments were given to needy patients, and the sum of £2 was spent in relief. Mrs Bartram reported that twenty-nine patiepts were working and 2s 9d had been received for work sold during the month. Mrs K-eell reported a shortage of books especially for the men’s wards. The sum of £2 was granted towards the library for book covers. Accounts amounting to £22 4s were passed for payment.
