LATE SPORTING.

Training Work at Addington. The Addington track, which had got into a very hard condition, is now being ploughed up for about half its width arid training operations will have to be carried out on the outside of the track for a time. There were a few work-outs this morning. Social Pest and Young Frank went over two miles. They did the first half-mile in 2min 31sec and the full journey in 4min 43sec, with Social Pest half a length in front at the end. Royal Drusus, who paced a round, pulled up sore in front. Golden Direct went a mile and a quarter with a stablemate for company in 2min 55sec, the first mile in 2min 23sec. Full Hand went well over a mile and a quarter. He was assisted by a stablemate. The first half-mile occupied lmin 9sec, the mile 2min 20sec and the full trip 2min 52sec. Attorney, assisted by a maiden pacer, left the two-mile peg and went half a mile in lmin 12sec, a mile in 2min 23sec, a mile and a half in 3min 31isec and the two miles in 4min 44sec. Grace M’Elwyn joined in for the last mile and a quarter. Betty Jinks shaped nicely over a mile and a half, which she covered in 3min 25sec. The first half-mile was done in lmin lOsec and the mile in 2min 17sec. Adsum (in harness) and Le Vovage (saddle) went half a mile in lmin lOsec. Le \ oyage completed the mile in 2min loisec and Adsum took 2min 16isec. Brown Lap Scratched. Per Press Association. WHANGAREI, April 38.
