Restoration of Wage Cut in Australia. “ When I read the message this morning I felt inclined to shout * Hurrah,’” raid the Mayor (Mr D. G. Sullivan, M.P.), when asked if he would comment on the decision of the Federal Arbitration Court in Australia to restore the ten per cent cut in wages. “ The common-sense of such a policy,” he said. “ is beginning to be recognised in the great sister Dominion. I remain more convinced than I am of anything else that only by means of wage restorations in all countries will we return most quickly and surely to prosperity. I can only say: ‘God grant, for the sake of our own people, that similar action will soon be taken here.’ ”
