June—Motor Club ball. The closing; date for entries for the Canterbury Auto-cycle Club’s trial has been fixed for Friday, at 9 p.m. Owing - to the difficulty of arriving at a simple and equitable means of conducting a petrol consumption test in the trial, the committee decided at a meeting; held last week that a starting tost be substituted for the petrol test. The Little River check will be moved from the railway station to the foot, of the hill climb to the Hill Top. The starting test will be held at this check, and competitors wiil be required to start their engines and ride over a timed and measured section, to be fixed by the control stewards. One mark per second or fraction thereof will be the penalty for errors over or under the time allowed. Competitors are requested to be on the mark at the Gloucester Parking Station at 1.45 p.m. sharp. Pioneer Sports Meeting. The Pioneer Sports Club will hold a sports meeting on Mr Shipley’s property at Hare wood next Sunday. An excellent programme has been arranged which will include an egg-and-spoon race, a potato race, point-to-point race, blindfold race, relay pillion race, serpentine pillion and solo races, tightrope riding competition, cigarette pillion race, flying 200yds solo race and a miniature T.T. Motor-cyclists will observe that there is ample fare for an excellent day’s outing. Members are asked to bring their friends along, and a start will be made from the club-rooms at 10 a.m. Tea and hot water will be provided by the club. Officials will be preparing the course on Saturday afternoon at two o’clock, and those wishing to try out the T.T. course can do so. The 1.0.M.T.T. New Zealand may not be represented at this year's Jsle of Man Tourist Trophy races, unless the 1.0. M. authorities provide additional finance. The position is that the offer made by the 1.0. M. Government to the English A.G.U. is inadequate to provide for overseas representatives. It is understood that Sid Moses, although anxious to take on the trip, is unable to finance it. ».♦ J 5 Corsair Club Sun.
