SHIPWRECK PARTY.

Freshers Hold Novel Dance at College.

Members of the Canterbury University College Freshers’ Club held a “Shipwreck” party in the men’s common room last evening. Admittance was not allowed to those in evening or ordinary dress, with the result that many bizarre costumes were worn. The decorations were reminiscent of ships. The committee responsible for the arrangements comprised Misses Nancy Hitchcock and Clare Hunter, Messrs W. Kennedy, P. Blakiston, P. Bridges and L. C. Kingsbury. A novelty supper was served in the Students’ Association tea rooms. Among; those present were Misses Natalie Vale, Lola Anderson, Joyce Cooper, Isobel Wright, Jean Ashworth Mary Henderson.
