Death of Woman Due to Shock. Per Press Association. NAPIER, April 18. A verdict that Delia Lavina Calder died as the result of syncope, due to shock, was returned by the Coroner at an inquest regarding a fatality which occurred at Bay View on Monday afternoon. The evidence showed that a loud report, which later was found to have been caused by a benzine iron explod ing. was heard by a neighbour, who took no notice of the occurrence at the time. Later a small child was heard crying, and the father, David Calder, found his wife lying dead on the floor of the house.
