Saving of £28,000,000 on Railways. United Press Assn.—By Electric Tel egraph—Copyright. (Received April 17, 1.35 p.m.) PARIS, April 16. Cabinet to-morrow will discuss the complete reorganisation of the railways, with a view to halving the deficit of £56,000,000. The reorganisation plans include the closing of 6250 miles of minor railways, or the limiting of the trains on them to one daily, the replacing of lost mileage by road traffic and also the suspending of long-distance motor traffic competing with the main lines. Additional changes include the immediate pensioning of a number of railwaymen who normally would retire in 1937, a reduction of approximately 6 per cent in wages and cuts in certain pensions.
