INFANTILE PARALYSIS.

Sporadic Case in North Canterbury. “It is only a sporadic case and is not likely to produce an epidemic,” said Dr T. Fletcher Telford .medical officer of health for Canterbury and the West Coast, when asked to-day concerning a case of infantile paralysis which has been notified from North Canterbury. It is the first case cf infantile paralysis to be notified in the Canterbury district for a long time. The number of cases of infectious and notifiable diseases reported in the past week was only three, as follows: Tuberculosis 1, infantile paralysis 1 and septic abortion 1. There was one death from septic abortion. No fresh cases were reported on the West Coast.
