ANTARCTIC PLANS.

Lincoln Ellsworth’s Next Venture. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. NEW YORK, April 14. The noted millionaire explorer and aviator, Dr Lincoln Ellsworth, savs he has decided to return to the south. October and November, he says, are the best months for flying in Antarctica. To reach the Bay of Whales, last January’s base, with a view to flying across the Antarctic continent to the Weddell Sea Would be impossible. The alternative is to establish a base at Deception Island, in the South Shetlands, from where Mr Ellsworth will follow in his aeroplane the unexplored west coast of the Weddell Sea, before heading across the continent. The proposed flight, in a straight line would be 2800 miles and Mr Ellsworth would traverse 1800 miles never before seen. ‘I may take the personnel of the Wyatt Earp, the best in the world, using them again. When repairs to my aeroplane are completed I shall ship it from Los Angeles to New Zealand. The Wyatt Earp should sail with the plane in September.”
