Programme for Special Meeting. The programme for the Wellington Trotting Club’s winter meeting on May 19 has been drawn up, subject to the approval of the Trotting Association, and an excellent card of eight e.vents is scheduled. The interest of main import is of course, the Invitation Match, one mile and a quarter, in which Walla Walla and Auburn Lad will probably meet Harold Logan, Red Shadow, Lindbergh, and Glenrossie. A stake of £250 is attached to the race, the winner’s share being £175. The two-mile event, the Dominion Handicap, also carried a stake of £250, and it is for horses handicapped to do 4.33 or better. The sprint, the Farewell Handicap, one mile and a quarter, is for 2.46 class horses, and the stake attached to it is £l6O, The other five items are:—Preliminary Handicap Trot, £IOO, 3.45 class, one mile and a half; Woburn Handicap, £IOO, 3.45 class, one mile and a half; Eastbourne Handicap, £l2O, 3.42 class, one mile and a half ; Winter Handicap Trot, £l2O, 5.2 class, two miles; and Suburban Handicap, £IOO, 3.7, one mile and a quarter - . .
