BRIDE-TO-BE HONOURED.

A gift party arranged by members of the Basketball Club was held in the Parish Hall, Prebbleton, last week to honour Miss Lilian •Millar on the occasion of her approaching marriage. Each person brought a gift for the future home of the guest, and in addition the presentation of a cake stand was made by Miss Bertha Hartnell, captain of the basketball team, who wished Miss Millar every happiness in her married life. Another presentation of a china tea set and a crystal bowl was made by Miss J. Easterbrook, on behalf of the Tennis Club, of which the guest of honour has been a valued member for several years. Mr L. Smith conveyed Miss Millar’s thanks to those present. During the evening a pianoforte duet was played by Misses Edith Pennett and Doreen Smith, and games and dancing were also enjoyed.
