Wools ton-Linwood Branch Meeting. annual report. Mrs ,T. Cracroft Wilson presided at the annual meeting of the WoolstonLinwood sub-branch of the Plunket Society, held in the central rooms, Chester Street, on Saturday afternoon, when a successful year’s work was reviewed. The annual report stated that the finances were considered satisfactorv despite the bad times, and a small credit balance was shown. Regret was expressed at the resignation from the district of ZSurse M’Clea, but the committee wished her every happiness in her married life. Nurse M'Clea ana Nurse Harman reported that a total of 4854 visits from habies, adults and pre-scivool children had been paid at the Linwood and Woolston rooms. Thanks were expressed to all members and friends who had helped with the work during the year, also to the auditors, Messrs W. Jamieson and Son. Address by President. Mrs Cracroft Wilson, president of the Christchurch branch, congratulated the sub-branch on the efficient work done during the year and the satisfactory balance shown. The Linwood branch was one of the last formed, and it was gratifying to know of its good progress. It was largely due to the help of the sub-branches <on Violet Day that the central rooms were able to carry on without anxiety. She stressed the necessity of young mothers becoming members of the society if possible, and also committee members. The campaign to raise funds for the Karitane Hospital was also outlined by Mrs Cracroft WilMrs H. R. Smith, the retiring president of the sub-branch, reviewed the work of the past year. She said she could not see her way to continue as president of the sub-branch, but she was sure that Mrs W. K. Lauchland, the new president, would direct the work well. A small presentation was made to Mrs Smith by members of the committee. Officers of the sub-branch were elected as follows:—President, Mrs W. K. Lauchland; vice-presidents, Mesdames CL Basan (Woolston) and E. Schute; treasurer, Mrs H. Ayres; joint secretaries, Mesdames A. Douglas and D. Lingard; committee, Mesdames E. J. Hogg, C. G. Calvert, A. J. Benzie, J. S. Moore, T. Harris, P. A. Tooley, C. R. N. Mackie, Hurrell, R. G. Douglas, F. Daniels, Durie and H. Kilner.
