AUCKLAND BUSINESS. (Special to the “ Star.”) AUCKLAND, April 16. The new week opened well, with, fairly free bidding at the ten o’clock call. In the bank section Commercial Bank prefeienoe shares touched a new high level with a sale at £9 10s. and with a sale at 4Ss 6d Bank of New Zealand recovered from the slight casing at the week-end. Colonial Sugars were firm and changed hands at £65 2« 6d, more being wanted at that figure. The mining section was fairlv active with Inquiries for Walhis at 355. The Canterbury Co-op. Poultry Producers, Ltd., report that at Wednesday s and Friday’s sales heavy yardlngs of poultry were disposed of. The majority of the birds w'ere in good condition and bidding throughout was keen, particularly for boilers over 31b in weight. Chicken—Heavy, good demand, up to .»s 6d per pair; medium, fair demand, to 6s 3d; light, good supply, to 4s.
