N.Z. HARPIST RETURNS.

Played in Aimee M’Pherson’s Temple. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, April 16 Miss Winnifred Carter, an Aucklander, who is a member of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, arrived by the Aorangi on holiday. When a school girl she played the harp as a member of the Auckland Orchestral Society. She then went to Sydney and played in the State Orchestra under Henri Verbrugghen for six years. Miss Carter was engaged in Sydney by Aimee Semple M’Pherson to play at her Angelus Temple in Los Angeles, and after a year there she joined the Detroit Orchestra. On several occasions she has spent the off season in France studying under Grand jang, whom she regards as the greatest harpist in the world.
