Local floodings are reported on the north coart, and further heavy coastal falls are predicted. An Adelaide messags says that rain which fell east of the Burra resulted in serious floods. Carcases of drowned sheep were found in the branches of tall trees in part of the course of Burra Creek. The water at Pakunda ran in the street to a depth of eight feet. A Brisbane message savs that torrential rain fell over the whole north coast. The Caboolture River broke its banks, farms were flooded and the farmers were forced to leave their homes at midnight. There are several feet of water in some of the houses. A terrific storm broke over the township of Jericho, and one thunderclap shook the buildings. Richard Fitzgerald, aged forty-eight, was struck dead by lightning when sheltering under a tree.
