The Senate has adopted' a resolu tion providing for a wide investigation into the so-called “ Munitions Trust.” The committee is authorised to follow up the charges *that arms makers are actively fomenting war. It will also consider the desirability of a Government monopoly in the manufacture -j: machines of war. The sponsors of the resolution originally wished to move an amendment to the Revenue Bill providing for double taxation on munition makers in time of war, but that was held in abeyance pending the report of the investigating committee.
