MORE WORK FOR BOYS.
A notable increase the demand for boys for industrial positions ’was reported at the meeting of the? Christchurch Boys’ Employment Committee yesterday afternoon. The secretary (Mr G. M. Keys) stated that many of the positions were good and had definite possibilities. The most, difficult problem was to find openings in the commercial world. In the quarter from January 1 to March 30 the committee had placed 334 boys in permanent or temporary positions, as follows: Farming 68 (GO permanent, 8 temporary), commercial 39 (31, 8), industrial 81 <42. 39). miscellaneous 146 (18. 128). In the first quarter of last year 274 had been 'placed.
