PLANE ACCIDENTS.

Need for Expert Evidence at Inquiries. AERO CLUB DISCUSSION’. A good deal of discussion regarding inquiries into fatal aeroplane crashes took place at a meeting of the committee of. the Canterbury Aero Club held at Ashburton last night. Mr J. C. Guinness presided. The opinion of members was that there was not sufficient expert evidence called at the initial inquiries, as most of the evidence was given at official inquiries, and was not made public. Mr F. W. Johnston suggested that the Government should appoint a Cotoner who would investigate all fatal crashes in the Dominion, and so be able to bring forward some useful riders. After discussion it was decided to bring the question under the notice of the New Zealand Aero Club.
