Thursday, May 24, Empire Night, has been selected as the date for the annual staff dance of the Christchurch “ Times ” and “ Star.” In recent years, this dance in the Winter Garden has broken all records for staff dances, and another brilliant success is anticipated this year. A kitchen evening was given by Mrs G. Collister, Ohoka Road, Kaiapoi, tor Miss Freda Johnston, who is to be married shortly. The evening was spent in music, dancing and games. A lucky spot waltz was won by Mrs Cosgrove and Mr Kirkpatrick. Mr Arthur Pearce thanked those present for the marry useful gifts received.
