Considerable interest is being aroused by a golf fixture to take place over the week-end at Shirley. The participants are well known to the commercial and farming community, and it has been stated that a “ ton of spuds ” will change hands after the event. A cinema enthusiast has been engaged to criticise and record the weak points of the players, and a large following is expected to view the high standard of play. Kaiapoi Ladies’ Club.
