Association games resulted—First division: Sunderland 0, Manchester Citv 0. Southern section: Gillingham 5, Northampton 1. Northern section. Wrexham 5. Tranmere 1. Scottish section: Celtic 3, St Mirren 0; Motherwell G. Cowdenbeath 1; St Johnstone o. Aberdeen 1. In a Northern Union game, London Ilighfield 25 beat Leigh 8.
