SHARP RISE IN EGG PRICES.

Seasonal Scarcity Causes Increase of 2d per Dozen.

FISH FAIRLY PLENTIFUL

Eggs are becoming very scarce and the price has consequently risen sharply. Duck eggs are in particularly short supply, especially the full-sized eggs. The larger pullets’ eggs are in many cases being graded as seconds This week first grade hens’ eggs have risen from Is 5d to Is 7d, second grade from Is 3d to Is od, duck eggs from Is 4d to Is 7d, and pullets from lid to Is Id. There has been no change in tetail meat prices. Supplies of vegetables and fruit are steady, with no alteration in values. Fish is in fair supply, with prices generally slightly easier than last week's Quotations were: Meat.
