WRESTLING.
Canterbury Association Appoints Officials. The committee of the Canterbury Wrestling: Association met on Monday evening, the president (Mr P. R. Climie) presiding over a full attendance. The registration of nine amateur wrestlers was approved. The following officials were appointed:—Announcer, Mr A. M’Donald Smith; time-keepers, Messrs R. L. Kennett and P. C. Crooke; honorary medical officers. Drs A. C. Sandston, J. Guthrie, J. P. Whetter, M. Gray, J. P. M'Quilkin, J. K. Davidson and B. IT. Gilmour; radio announcer, Mr N. S. Batchelor; referees, Messrs A. P. Craig and J. S. Shaw. A sub-committee comprising Messrs A. I. Cottrell, N. S. Batchelor. W. J. Loader and L. Cornaga was appointed to revise the Rules of the Association. The annual report of tlie New Zealand Wrestling Union was received. It indicated that during the past year the sport had enjoyed a most successful season. Messrs G. C. Osborn and A. P. Craig were appointed to represent the association at the annual meeting of the union. It was resolved to recommend to the union that a benevolent fund be established for the benefit of amateur wrestlers.
