Hope That Institutes Will Take It Up. The hope that women’s institutes would become more interested in drama was expressed this morning at the annual meeting of the North Can terbury Federation of Women’s Institutes by the president, Mrs William Deans. “ I think that the institutes are becoming more and more interested in drama, and I hope that each group this year will run a drama festival,” said Mrs Deans. 14 Perhps, later on, we could have a federation drama festival and, if good enough, the winner could take part in the Canterbury Drama League’s festival.” Mrs Deans referred to the entry of the Greendaie Women’s Institute in the last festival, and said that the institute should be congratulated. The annual report of the federation stated that it had joined the British Drama League and that many institutes had made use of its qbrary of plays. -
