Autumn Foursomes at Shirley. When play commenced at Shirley to-day the conditions were ideal, but later a strong southerly breeze sprang up, making things unpleasant for players and against good golf. The third round of the New Zealand autumn foursomes was played, with the following result:— Mrs E. M. Hunt and Miss J. Nathan beat Mrs G. Fleetwood and Miss E. Fleetwood, 5 and 4. Mrs N. E. Tinscey and Mrs L. B. Scott beat Miss M. Wheeler and Miss M. Wylie, 5 and 4. Mrs E. Hartley Smith and Miss B. Hobbs beat Mrs G. H. Reid and Miss Loughnan, 5 and 4. Mrs A. C. M’Killop and Miss Cracroft Wilson beat Miss E. White-Parsons and Miss E. Parsons. 2 and 1. Miss V. Fleming- and Miss E. Nutt beat Mrs C. Ogilvie and Mrs F. W. Freeman. 4 and 3. Mrs D. C. Macfarlane and Mrs p. r. Dear don beat Mrs W. B. Russell and Mrs A. Waddel. 3 and 2. Miss J. Stevenson and Miss I*. Buchanan beat Mrs J. Martin and Miss P. Ell wood. 4 and 3. Miss M. Beadel and Miss K. Johnston beat Mrs T. Foster and Mrs R. C. Symes. 5 and 3. A feature of the matches was the comfortable margins secured by the respective winners. The closest match was that between Mrs M’Killop and Miss Wilson and the Misses E. White-Parsons and E. Parsons. This was a close game with never more that one hole between them until the seventeenth was "reached. Bogey Match. A four-ball bogey match resulted: Mrs Gresson and Mrs Brittan, 5 down. Miss Rutherford and Miss BarnsGraham. 5 down. Miss M’Callum and Miss Hudson, 7 down. Mrs Duncan and Miss Brown, 7 down. Mrs Francis and Mrs Mills, S «lown. Mrs Lewis and Mrs Rudkin, 9 down. WELLINGTON, April 11. The New South Wales Kirk-Windeyer team arrived by the Limited from Auckland and leaves by the Wanganella to-morrow. The players are the guests of the New Zealand Gojf Association. They had a look round Miramar this morning and lunched at Heretaunga, where an unofficial game v/as played this afternoon against Arthur Duncan, G. Mills, G. T. Dwson, W. E C. Gregory and P. Whitcombe. They will be the guests of Sir Alexander Roberts, chairman of the New Zealand Golf Council, at dinner this evening.
