DOUBLE PROGRAMME
Theatre Royal Offers Varied Screen Fare. The double-feature programme offered at the Theatre Royal this week should find favour with all types of picturegoers, for the two feature films, Ladies They Talk About,” starring Barbara Stanwyck, and “ You Made Me Love You” (Stanley Lupino), are both full of entertainment. Comedy is the keynote of both productions. Although “ Ladies They Talk About ” gives a dramatic insight into conditions in a women’s penitentiary, there is nothing objectionable in it. Barbara Stanwyck, as Nan Taylor, finds herself mixed up with a gang of bank robbers, and, through no fault of her own, is imprisoned for helping to engineer a robbery. The types she meets while behind steel' bars make the audience realise just how much of the lighter side of life is enjoyed in such an institution. You Made Me Love You” gives Stanley Lupino ample scope for his particular brand of comedy. His song hits take the audience by storm and his very appearance causes roars of laughter.
