This cash-box, containing several cheques for large amounts, was stolen from the Paparua County Council’s safe when it was blown open over four years ago. The box was recovered, with the cheques inside, yesterday, when it was found in a hedge in Hanson’s Lane, Middleton. The box also contained £6O in cash, but this was missing.
