Dear Sir, —Before the frosts take the last of the autumn flowers in the public gan dens I would strongly advise anyone, p?rti cularly gardeners, to go and see what 9 wonderful display is provided there by the use of the salvia bonfire as a bedding The great beds of it in the gardens ar« simply gorgeous, and the fresh bright red is very refreshing after that too, too genen ally used favourite, the red geranium. ] write this to stimulate interest in the salviaj because with winter days ahead it is good thing to cling to all the brightness w! .can for as long as we can.—l am. etc., BE GAY-
