POULTRY AND EGGS. The Red Comb Egg and Poultry Company reports that on Saturday and Wednesday full penning!? were received and the whole of the birds offered were sold at satisfactory prices. Yearling hens again came forward, and those showing a return to new feathering met with keen competition. Light chicken and unfinished sorts were over-supplied and prices eased a little. Heavy-breed boilers are in keeh demand. The average prices per pair were: Roasting chicken, light to 4s 6d, medium to 6s 6d, heavy to f>s 9d; hens, light to 4s; yearling White Leghorn to 5s 3d, heavy up to 6s 9d; duckling to 6s 9d, ducks to ss; goslings to 7s; turkeys (young) Is per lb live weight. Eggs—Machine graded, tested, guaranteed fresh, first grade Is sd. second grade Is 3d per dozen. 6 Macfarlane and Co.’s Report. Messrs Macfarlane and Co. report the following prices for eggs:—First grade, up to Is 7d per dozen; second grade, Is 4d to Is 6d; duck eggs, up to Is 6d per dozen.
