Prominent Horses Escape Luckily. SYDNEY, April 6. The yearlings which perished were a brown filly by Grosvenor, which brought 70 guineas; black colt by Rosewing, 140 guineas; and a chestnut gelding by Diacquenod, 65 guineas. r . George Price’s stables contained Kuvera, Sir John, Whittingham, Rancharo, Blixten, Gladswood and several other horses who took part in the autumn meeting. Chatham was quartered in a box on the east side of the stables, which were in no immediate danger, owing to the wind being in the opposite direction. Mr H. Chisholm lost his polo equipment, harness and other gear, valued at £2OO.
The fire is believed to have been started through a cigar butt igniting the coir matting in the arena.
