WHIPPET RACING.
Easter Meeting at Bushey Park. Fine weather and an excellent programme attracted a first-class attendance to the New Zealand Whippet Racing Club’s Easter meeting, held at Bushey Park, Riccarton, this afternoon. Good acceptances had been received for all events, and the fields included visiting dogs from Dunedin and Invercargill. Following are the results of the finals:— EASTER CUP FIRST-CLASS HANDICAP. Charm (syds), J. R. D. Johns’s .... 1 Entreaty (7yds), Mrs M. A. Maddams’s 2 Devondale Roddy (6yds), J. R. D. Johns’s 3 Won by a head, a neck between second and third. Time—l2sec. NEW ZEALAND WHIPPET DERBY. Silver Stag, Mrs J. Price’s 1 Blue Link, J. R. D. Johns’s 2 Tiger Tins. L. Johnston’s 3 A great finish. Won by a head, with the third dog half a length away. Time —l2 5-10 sec. YALDHURST HURDLE HANDICAP. Rossaway (16yds), L. J. Coxon’s . . 1 Tom Thumb (20yds). Miss Wright’s 2 Bluebird (13yds), J. R. D.
