SUBSCRIPTION RATES.
Manufacturers Make an Increase. An increased scale of subscriptions was agreed to at a meeting of the Caitterbury Manufacturers’ Association last night. The old rate of £1 Is for firms employing up to 24 factory hands, £2 2s from 25 to 49 hands, and £3 3s foi 50 hands or more, was amended as follows:—Firms employing up to 10 factory hands, £1 10s; 11 to 20, £2 2s; 21 to 40. £3 3s; 41 to 70, £6 6s; 71 to 150, £lO 10s; more than 151, £ls 15s. The new scale will operate during the year ending September 30 and for a further period of two years following. Mr F. W. J. Belton (president) said that the subscriptions had been under consideration for some time. Under the new scale the income from subscriptions would be £450 a year. The association might lose members, but £2BO would be derived from investments.
In 1931 the ordinary expenditure amounted to £584, in 1932 to £530, and in 1933 to £507. After paying current expenses and a levy to the New Zealand Manufacturers’ Federation, a 1 balance of £9O remained for propaganda.
