QUAKE REPORTS.
“ Great Harm Caused to Dominion.”
Per Press Association.
AUCKLAND, April 7,
Mr Grey Campbell, a member of the Auckland City Council, who returned from Sydney to-day, said that a great deal of harm was being done to the Dominion in Australia by exaggerated earthquake reports. Reports of the recent quake were featured, and one paper on the day following the quake had as the headline, “ No News from New Zealand.” He knew that a number of tourists had cancelled their passages because of such publicity and he urged that the Government should impose a rigorous censorship.
